Project Story:
Warm Summer Nights
The Story
How it started
Gary came to us with a unique request to re-record a cherished song of his. After acquiring the original recorded in the 70's from the studio he recruited Fox Tracks to re-produce the track and lay down drums and guitar.

Original Tape Recording
Chart and Scratch Track
First things first, we charted the chords for Gary's original song 'Warm Summer Nights'. A really pleasant chord progression using lots of Cycle 5 Progressions.
It was important to us to preserve the energy of the original as we re-recorded the instruments, so we actually mapped the tempo of the original track.
+ Drums
+ Acoustic Guitar
Instrument Tracking
Using our fresh chart and scratch track with click, we recorded Drums and Acoustic Guitar to the original track.
Gary requested we record the opening melody line on guitar. We kept the drums simple and full-toned.
We always tune to the track! Check out the drum tone. We pitched the toms to the key using the Welch Tuning Systems Drum Set.
Editing & Mixing
After we recorded our instruments, we sent Gary's recording engineer stems to edit and mix along with Gary's guitar, vocals, and other instruments.
The Outcome
Warm Summer Nights has been re-created and released into the world. Check out the final version below.
